Why organise activities?
The activities at Bidealde constitute a "supplementary education" that encompasses multiple aspects: cultural, civil and personal development, co-existence in freedom, work well done, religious education: community service, concern for others, ethical conduct, etc.
The Library
Reading is a key element in the intellectual, cultural and personal development of undergraduates. An extensive library with over a thousand volumes ensures this aim is achieved at Bidealde.
A computerised database helps residents to choose and find books to read. A team of library staff provide advice to those who request it. In response to suggestions made by residents and members, new titles are added each month.
Religious education
For those who so wish, there are discussions on ethical and Christian issues, tailored to suit the personal and academic circumstances of those attending. A chaplain is on hand for all residents. The chapel at Bidealde is a pleasant setting for meditation, and Mass is held there everyday. This feature of the education provided by Bidealde is entrusted to the Opus Dei.
